Having graduated from UNT’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a residency at UT Southwestern, Johnny East, DO, has over 18 years’ experience in interventional pain management. He owns Addison Pain & Regenerative Medicine and is board certified in both physical medicine & rehabilitation and pain medicine. East treats acute and chronic pain of the spine, joints, and connective tissue resulting from injuries and arthritis.

As an osteopath, East takes a whole-body approach to diagnosing and treating his patients to help provide relief and restore quality of life. In 2018, he pursued extensive training and certification at the American Academy of Regenerative Medicine. His passion for treating spinal injuries extends beyond the clinic. East has been recognized by D CEO with an Excellence in Healthcare Award for his patented spinal injection training device.

Karla Nunn attended the University of Kentucky and obtained a bachelor’s degree in science from Texas Wesleyan University in 2002. She then began her career in the wellness industry as creator and wellness director of flagship brand, the MommyStrong™ Transformation 90 Day program. As an effective health and longevity consultant and business development executive, Nunn has broad experience, ranging from health, wellness, nutrition, and sports fitness, to strategic development, consulting, program management, and event promotions. She has successfully helped many individuals achieve their optimal health and longevity goals and is now committed to helping Model Wellness move into the future. Nunn’s goal is for every Model Wellness client to personally thrive and live a longer, more productive life.

Sara Davis

LIFESTYLE SERVICES DIRECTOR

Sara Davis’ interest in health and fitness began in her days of competing as All-American sprinter at the University of California. During college she become a personal trainer and group instructor at Jack LaLane’s European Health Club. Moving to Dallas, she worked at Gold’s Gym and 24-Hour Fitness as well as managing the employee fitness program at AT&T Corporate.

Davis is a certified Wellness Coach with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, a certified Belief Coach and a Safe Conversations® workshop trainer. She takes a holistic approach to wellness, understanding the interdependence of the spirit, soul, and body, as well as the importance of developing consistent practices in each area to achieve personal wellbeing. Davis embraces the principles of her training and utilizes a host of life skills, helping her clients achieve health and experience optimal levels of performance.

Davis is also the founder of Go RAW with Sara Davis Coaching Services. Her private coaching practice focuses on the unique needs of women as they move through the various seasons of their lives. She is excited to bring her services, skills and heart to the Model Wellness team and community.

Lori Frederickson, LPN.

NURSE TECHNICIAN

Lori Frederickson, LPN, worked as an analytical chemist at Onyx Environmental Services in Dayton, Ohio, before studying chemistry and biology – and playing division 1 soccer – at Ohio State and Wright State Universities. Frederickson graduated from Fortis College with a licensed practical nursing degree and is currently finishing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Frederickson has a 16-year background of working in healthcare in multiple states. She has worked in the areas of medical-surgical, acute, sub-acute, home health, and long-term care. She has also worked in ventilator units and is familiar with associated technology.

Her strong foundation in healthcare, science, and athletics, combined with experiences of personal healing from holistic and non-conventional medicine, makes Frederickson a fervent, vital, and multi-skilled practitioner. An Athletic Hall of Fame recipient from the West Carrollton High School in Ohio, Frederickson is the nurse and thermometry technician at Model Wellness.

Sue Simpson

MASSAGE THERAPIST

Licensed massage therapist, Sue Simpson has provided massage therapy to the Dallas-Fort Worth community for over thirty years. She graduated from the Asten Center of Natural Therapeutics in 1989 and promptly stepped into established practice, the Health Improvement Center in Denton. Inspired to further her education, Simpson went on to study cranio-sacral therapy, prenatal massage, and polarity therapy. During these early years, she established working relationships with chiropractors and dentists, realizing that her experience and knowledge in these specialty areas would help her prosper as this emerging industry gained popularity.

Having taken a break from her career in 1993 to devote her time and energy to being a mother, Simpson returned to work alongside Josh Stroud at Jay’s Personalized Training in Fort Worth in 1997. In 1999 Simpson returned to Dallas to open her own business, Healing Hands Therapeutic Massage. In 2002 she expanded her practice by becoming an owner and working therapist in the established salon, Salon L, in north Dallas.

Simpson has over three decades’ experience in this still exciting and expanding field. To date, her diverse clientele, many of whom she also considers friends, have surpassed even her own expectations. Simpson is welcoming the future here at Model Wellness, and she welcomes you too. Karen is a licensed Massage Therapist through the National Association of Massage Therapists. Her education includes graduating from Texas Tech University, Myopractic Institute, ns Massage Resources, Inc.

Karen works to improve her client’s physical health and sense of well-being using therapeutic massage techniques. Hunter Richards

Hunter Richards attended the University of Texas at Austin receiving a Bachelor of Science with a specialty certification in McCombs Business of Healthcare. While at UT, Hunter participated in an academic project with Dell Medical School Department of Oncology and Pain Management Clinic, working to create a more efficient flow in the merging of clinics. She began her career working as the Patient Coordinator at Vitality Sports Medicine. Ms. Richards has a passion for connecting with patients and ensuring each patient is educated in health, wellness and self-care.

Texas native Jessie McKitrick, DC, completed a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences and Chemistry at the University of Oklahoma. She then attended the Cleveland Chiropractic School in Kansas City where she was a member of the Pi Tau Delta honors society. After graduating with honors, McKitrick returned to Dallas where she practiced for six years with a focus on treating current and former athletes. In 2019 her ongoing interest in nutrition and the role it plays in regenerative healing and health maintenance led her to open IV Nutrition Dallas. McKitrick lives with her husband and business partner Ryan, and their two dogs. They are expecting their first child (a baby girl) in November 2020!

Dr. Lauren Academia, Chiropractor specializes in sports medicine and helping athletes reach their maximum potential.  Dr. Academia is board certified in Chiropractic with specialized training in multiple techniques including Diversified, Activator, Thompson and Flexion Distraction.  She holds certifications in Dry Needling, FDM Upper Region, Rocktape FMT Basic and Advanced, as well as Rocktape FMT Blades and Blades Advanced. 

Dr. Academia graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She completed her Master’s in Business Administration in 2014.  She attended Parker University graduating in April 2018 as a Doctor of Chiropractic.  While attending chiropractic school she expanded her knowledge even further through attending seminars to expanding her education on soft tissue and the nature of sports related injuries.

Dr. Academia, also referred to as, Dr. Lauren grew up in Garland, Texas playing soccer from the age four through college and beyond.  She received a soccer scholarship to play for Southwestern Oklahoma State.  Growing up as an athlete playing sports in scholastic, recreational and elite leagues she experienced the various levels of competition.  Dr. Lauren understands from personal experience the drive to push to potential, the setback of injuries and the importance around correct rehabilitation and recovery to allow an athlete to quickly return to sports and life.  Dr. Lauren embraces the body’s natural ability to heal with the correct activations.  Her personal experience, education and training around how to strengthen the body to prevent future injuries, as well as the necessity of maintenance care helps patients keep performance at their peak level. 

Dr. Lauren is married to the love of her life, Cody.  They have two fur babies, Kona and Tilly.  When she is away from the office, you can catch her exploring outdoors, running, or relaxing with family and friends.  She competes in half-marathons, marathons and extreme runs including runDisney Dopey Challenge – 48.6 miles in 4 days.

Michelle Rogers

SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Michelle Rogers graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in Criminal Justice and minors in Public Law and Security Technologies. She has also completed a certificate in Bridal Make-up Application and Airbrush in El Paso, TX.

 

Her passion for health and wellness began after twelve years of unknown health issues and countless visits to several doctors recommending treatments, pills, and programs. Michelle decided to try another way of healing, holistic medicine.

 

Michelle has a deep desire to help and educate others with the knowledge and experience she has gained through her health journey. Michelle became a skilled technician in Ozone Therapy when she worked at TELOS Fitness Center in Dallas. With knowledge of non-toxic makeup to gluten free recipes, Michelle loves to share a healthier way to live. She believes that a core value to good health is the combination of physical, emotional, spiritual, and social wellness.

 

She enjoys spending time with her husband Bobby, their two fur babies and family. She is an active volunteer at her local church and is part of a Therapy Dog group who visits the Ronald McDonald home along with nursing homes.

Hunter Richards attended the University of Texas at Austin receiving a Bachelor of Science with a specialty certification in McCombs Business of Healthcare. While at UT, Hunter participated in an academic project with Dell Medical School Department of Oncology and Pain Management Clinic, working to create a more efficient flow in the merging of clinics. She began her career working as the Patient Coordinator at Vitality Sports Medicine. Ms. Richards has a passion for connecting with patients and ensuring each patient is educated in health, wellness and self-care.

Texas native Jessie McKitrick, DC, completed a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences and Chemistry at the University of Oklahoma. She then attended the Cleveland Chiropractic School in Kansas City where she was a member of the Pi Tau Delta honors society. After graduating with honors, McKitrick returned to Dallas where she practiced for six years with a focus on treating current and former athletes. In 2019 her ongoing interest in nutrition and the role it plays in regenerative healing and health maintenance led her to open IV Nutrition Dallas. McKitrick lives with her husband and business partner Ryan, and their two dogs. They are expecting their first child (a baby girl) in November 2020!

Dr. Academia, also referred to as, Dr. Lauren grew up in Garland, Texas playing soccer from the age four through college and beyond.  She received a soccer scholarship to play for Southwestern Oklahoma State.  Growing up as an athlete playing sports in scholastic, recreational and elite leagues she experienced the various levels of competition.  Dr. Lauren understands from personal experience the drive to push to potential, the setback of injuries and the importance around correct rehabilitation and recovery to allow an athlete to quickly return to sports and life.  Dr. Lauren embraces the body’s natural ability to heal with the correct activations.  Her personal experience, education and training around how to strengthen the body to prevent future injuries, as well as the necessity of maintenance care helps patients keep performance at their peak level. 

Dr. Lauren is married to the love of her life, Cody.  They have two fur babies, Kona and Tilly.  When she is away from the office, you can catch her exploring outdoors, running, or relaxing with family and friends.  She competes in half-marathons, marathons and extreme runs including runDisney Dopey Challenge – 48.6 miles in 4 days.

Michelle Rogers graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in Criminal Justice and minors in Public Law and Security Technologies. She has also completed a certificate in Bridal Make-up Application and Airbrush in El Paso, TX.

 

Her passion for health and wellness began after twelve years of unknown health issues and countless visits to several doctors recommending treatments, pills, and programs. Michelle decided to try another way of healing, holistic medicine.

 

Michelle has a deep desire to help and educate others with the knowledge and experience she has gained through her health journey. Michelle became a skilled technician in Ozone Therapy when she worked at TELOS Fitness Center in Dallas. With knowledge of non-toxic makeup to gluten free recipes, Michelle loves to share a healthier way to live. Sara Davis’ interest in health and fitness began in her days of competing as All-American sprinter at the University of California. During college she become a personal trainer and group instructor at Jack LaLane’s European Health Club. Moving to Dallas, she worked at Gold’s Gym and 24-Hour Fitness as well as managing the employee fitness program at AT&T Corporate.

Davis is a certified Wellness Coach with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, a certified Belief Coach and a Safe Conversations® workshop trainer. She takes a holistic approach to wellness, understanding the interdependence of the spirit, soul, and body, as well as the importance of developing consistent practices in each area to achieve personal wellbeing. Davis embraces the principles of her training and utilizes a host of life skills, helping her clients achieve health and experience optimal levels of performance.

Davis is also the founder of Go RAW with Sara Davis Coaching Services. Her private coaching practice focuses on the unique needs of women as they move through the various seasons of their lives. She is excited to bring her services, skills and heart to the Model Wellness team and community.

Lori Frederickson, LPN, worked as an analytical chemist at Onyx Environmental Services in Dayton, Ohio, before studying chemistry and biology – and playing division 1 soccer – at Ohio State and Wright State Universities. Frederickson graduated from Fortis College with a licensed practical nursing degree and is currently finishing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Frederickson has a 16-year background of working in healthcare in multiple states. She has worked in the areas of medical-surgical, acute, sub-acute, home health, and long-term care. She has also worked in ventilator units and is familiar with associated technology.

Her strong foundation in healthcare, science, and athletics, combined with experiences of personal healing from holistic and non-conventional medicine, makes Frederickson a fervent, vital, and multi-skilled practitioner. An Athletic Hall of Fame recipient from the West Carrollton High School in Ohio, Frederickson is the nurse and thermometry technician at Model Wellness.

Licensed massage therapist, Sue Simpson has provided massage therapy to the Dallas-Fort Worth community for over thirty years. She graduated from the Asten Center of Natural Therapeutics in 1989 and promptly stepped into established practice, the Health Improvement Center in Denton. Inspired to further her education, Simpson went on to study cranio-sacral therapy, prenatal massage, and polarity therapy. During these early years, she established working relationships with chiropractors and dentists, realizing that her experience and knowledge in these specialty areas would help her prosper as this emerging industry gained popularity.

Having taken a break from her career in 1993 to devote her time and energy to being a mother, Simpson returned to work alongside Josh Stroud at Jay’s Personalized Training in Fort Worth in 1997. In 1999 Simpson returned to Dallas to open her own business, Healing Hands Therapeutic Massage. In 2002 she expanded her practice by becoming an owner and working therapist in the established salon, Salon L, in north Dallas.

Moving to Dallas, she worked at Gold’s Gym and 24-Hour Fitness as well as managing the employee fitness program at AT&T Corporate.

Davis is a certified Wellness Coach with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, a certified Belief Coach and a Safe Conversations® workshop trainer. She takes a holistic approach to wellness, understanding the interdependence of the spirit, soul, and body, as well as the importance of developing consistent practices in each area to achieve personal wellbeing. Davis embraces the principles of her training and utilizes a host of life skills, helping her clients achieve health and experience optimal levels of performance.

Lori Frederickson, LPN, worked as an analytical chemist at Onyx Environmental Services in Dayton, Ohio, before studying chemistry and biology – and playing division 1 soccer – at Ohio State and Wright State Universities. Frederickson graduated from Fortis College with a licensed practical nursing degree and is currently finishing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Frederickson has a 16-year background of working in healthcare in multiple states. She has worked in the areas of medical-surgical, acute, sub-acute, home health, and long-term care. She has also worked in ventilator units and is familiar with associated technology.

Her strong foundation in healthcare, science, and athletics, combined with experiences of personal healing from holistic and non-conventional medicine, makes Frederickson a fervent, vital, and multi-skilled practitioner. While at UT, Hunter participated in an academic project with Dell Medical School Department of Oncology and Pain Management Clinic, working to create a more efficient flow in the merging of clinics. She began her career working as the Patient Coordinator at Vitality Sports Medicine. Texas native Jessie McKitrick, DC, completed a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences and Chemistry at the University of Oklahoma. She then attended the Cleveland Chiropractic School in Kansas City where she was a member of the Pi Tau Delta honors society. After graduating with honors, McKitrick returned to Dallas where she practiced for six years with a focus on treating current and former athletes. In 2019 her ongoing interest in nutrition and the role it plays in regenerative healing and health maintenance led her to open IV Nutrition Dallas. Michelle Rogers graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in Criminal Justice and minors in Public Law and Security Technologies. She has also completed a certificate in Bridal Make-up Application and Airbrush in El Paso, TX.

 

Her passion for health and wellness began after twelve years of unknown health issues and countless visits to several doctors recommending treatments, pills, and programs. Michelle decided to try another way of healing, holistic medicine.

 

Michelle has a deep desire to help and educate others with the knowledge and experience she has gained through her health journey. Michelle became a skilled technician in Ozone Therapy when she worked at TELOS Fitness Center in Dallas. With knowledge of non-toxic makeup to gluten free recipes, Michelle loves to share a healthier way to live. Licensed massage therapist, Sue Simpson has provided massage therapy to the Dallas-Fort Worth community for over thirty years. She graduated from the Asten Center of Natural Therapeutics in 1989 and promptly stepped into established practice, the Health Improvement Center in Denton. Inspired to further her education, Simpson went on to study cranio-sacral therapy, prenatal massage, and polarity therapy. During these early years, she established working relationships with chiropractors and dentists, realizing that her experience and knowledge in these specialty areas would help her prosper as this emerging industry gained popularity.

Having taken a break from her career in 1993 to devote her time and energy to being a mother, Simpson returned to work alongside Josh Stroud at Jay’s Personalized Training in Fort Worth in 1997. In 1999 Simpson returned to Dallas to open her own business, Healing Hands Therapeutic Massage. In 2002 she expanded her practice by becoming an owner and working therapist in the established salon, Salon L, in north Dallas.

Simpson has over three decades’ experience in this still exciting and expanding field. Michelle Rogers graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in Criminal Justice and minors in Public Law and Security Technologies. She has also completed a certificate in Bridal Make-up Application and Airbrush in El Paso, TX.

 

Her passion for health and wellness began after twelve years of unknown health issues and countless visits to several doctors recommending treatments, pills, and programs. Michelle decided to try another way of healing, holistic medicine.

Texas native Jessie McKitrick, DC, completed a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences and Chemistry at the University of Oklahoma. She then attended the Cleveland Chiropractic School in Kansas City where she was a member of the Pi Tau Delta honors society. After graduating with honors, McKitrick returned to Dallas where she practiced for six years with a focus on treating current and former athletes. In 2019 her ongoing interest in nutrition and the role it plays in regenerative healing and health maintenance led her to open IV Nutrition Dallas. McKitrick lives with her husband and business partner Ryan, and their two dogs. They are expecting their first child (a baby girl) in November 2020!

Having graduated from UNT’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a residency at UT Southwestern, Johnny East, DO, has over 18 years’ experience in interventional pain management. He owns Addison Pain & Regenerative Medicine and is board certified in both physical medicine & rehabilitation and pain medicine. East treats acute and chronic pain of the spine, joints, and connective tissue resulting from injuries and arthritis.

As an osteopath, East takes a whole-body approach to diagnosing and treating his patients to help provide relief and restore quality of life. In 2018, he pursued extensive training and certification at the American Academy of Regenerative Medicine. Sara Davis’ interest in health and fitness began in her days of competing as All-American sprinter at the University of California. During college she become a personal trainer and group instructor at Jack LaLane’s European Health Club. Moving to Dallas, she worked at Gold’s Gym and 24-Hour Fitness as well as managing the employee fitness program at AT&T Corporate.

Davis is a certified Wellness Coach with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, a certified Belief Coach and a Safe Conversations® workshop trainer. She takes a holistic approach to wellness, understanding the interdependence of the spirit, soul, and body, as well as the importance of developing consistent practices in each area to achieve personal wellbeing. Davis embraces the principles of her training and utilizes a host of life skills, helping her clients achieve health and experience optimal levels of performance.

Davis is also the founder of Go RAW with Sara Davis Coaching Services. Her private coaching practice focuses on the unique needs of women as they move through the various seasons of their lives. She is excited to bring her services, skills and heart to the Model Wellness team and community.

Lori Frederickson, LPN.

NURSE TECHNICIAN

Lori Frederickson, LPN, worked as an analytical chemist at Onyx Environmental Services in Dayton, Ohio, before studying chemistry and biology – and playing division 1 soccer – at Ohio State and Wright State Universities. Frederickson graduated from Fortis College with a licensed practical nursing degree and is currently finishing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Frederickson has a 16-year background of working in healthcare in multiple states. She has worked in the areas of medical-surgical, acute, sub-acute, home health, and long-term care. She has also worked in ventilator units and is familiar with associated technology.

Her strong foundation in healthcare, science, and athletics, combined with experiences of personal healing from holistic and non-conventional medicine, makes Frederickson a fervent, vital, and multi-skilled practitioner. An Athletic Hall of Fame recipient from the West Carrollton High School in Ohio, Frederickson is the nurse and thermometry technician at Model Wellness.

Licensed massage therapist, Sue Simpson has provided massage therapy to the Dallas-Fort Worth community for over thirty years. She graduated from the Asten Center of Natural Therapeutics in 1989 and promptly stepped into established practice, the Health Improvement Center in Denton. Inspired to further her education, Simpson went on to study cranio-sacral therapy, prenatal massage, and polarity therapy. During these early years, she established working relationships with chiropractors and dentists, realizing that her experience and knowledge in these specialty areas would help her prosper as this emerging industry gained popularity.

Having taken a break from her career in 1993 to devote her time and energy to being a mother, Simpson returned to work alongside Josh Stroud at Jay’s Personalized Training in Fort Worth in 1997. In 1999 Simpson returned to Dallas to open her own business, Healing Hands Therapeutic Massage. In 2002 she expanded her practice by becoming an owner and working therapist in the established salon, Salon L, in north Dallas.

Simpson has over three decades’ experience in this still exciting and expanding field. Hunter Richards attended the University of Texas at Austin receiving a Bachelor of Science with a specialty certification in McCombs Business of Healthcare. While at UT, Hunter participated in an academic project with Dell Medical School Department of Oncology and Pain Management Clinic, working to create a more efficient flow in the merging of clinics. She began her career working as the Patient Coordinator at Vitality Sports Medicine. Ms. Richards has a passion for connecting with patients and ensuring each patient is educated in health, wellness and self-care.

Hunter Richards

PATIENT COORDINATOR

Hunter Richards attended the University of Texas at Austin receiving a Bachelor of Science with a specialty certification in McCombs Business of Healthcare. While at UT, Hunter participated in an academic project with Dell Medical School Department of Oncology and Pain Management Clinic, working to create a more efficient flow in the merging of clinics. She began her career working as the Patient Coordinator at Vitality Sports Medicine. Ms. Richards has a passion for connecting with patients and ensuring each patient is educated in health, wellness and self-care.

Dr. Jessie McKitrick

IV LAB DIRECTOR

Texas native Jessie McKitrick, DC, completed a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences and Chemistry at the University of Oklahoma. She then attended the Cleveland Chiropractic School in Kansas City where she was a member of the Pi Tau Delta honors society. After graduating with honors, McKitrick returned to Dallas where she practiced for six years with a focus on treating current and former athletes. In 2019 her ongoing interest in nutrition and the role it plays in regenerative healing and health maintenance led her to open IV Nutrition Dallas. McKitrick lives with her husband and business partner Ryan, and their two dogs. They are expecting their first child (a baby girl) in November 2020!

Dr. Lauren Academia, DC

CHIROPRACTOR

Dr. Lauren Academia, Chiropractor specializes in sports medicine and helping athletes reach their maximum potential.  Dr. Academia is board certified in Chiropractic with specialized training in multiple techniques including Diversified, Activator, Thompson and Flexion Distraction.  She holds certifications in Dry Needling, FDM Upper Region, Rocktape FMT Basic and Advanced, as well as Rocktape FMT Blades and Blades Advanced. 

Dr. Academia graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She completed her Master’s in Business Administration in 2014.  She attended Parker University graduating in April 2018 as a Doctor of Chiropractic.  While attending chiropractic school she expanded her knowledge even further through attending seminars to expanding her education on soft tissue and the nature of sports related injuries.

Dr. Academia, also referred to as, Dr. Lauren grew up in Garland, Texas playing soccer from the age four through college and beyond.  She received a soccer scholarship to play for Southwestern Oklahoma State.  Growing up as an athlete playing sports in scholastic, recreational and elite leagues she experienced the various levels of competition.  Dr. Lauren understands from personal experience the drive to push to potential, the setback of injuries and the importance around correct rehabilitation and recovery to allow an athlete to quickly return to sports and life.  Dr. Lauren embraces the body’s natural ability to heal with the correct activations.  Her personal experience, education and training around how to strengthen the body to prevent future injuries, as well as the necessity of maintenance care helps patients keep performance at their peak level. 

Dr. Lauren is married to the love of her life, Cody.  They have two fur babies, Kona and Tilly.  When she is away from the office, you can catch her exploring outdoors, running, or relaxing with family and friends.  She competes in half-marathons, marathons and extreme runs including runDisney Dopey Challenge – 48.6 miles in 4 days. 

She looks forward to meeting you in the office or out on the road while training for her next race!

She enjoys spending time with her husband Bobby, their two fur babies and family. She is an active volunteer at her local church and is part of a Therapy Dog group who visits the Ronald McDonald home along with nursing homes.

Dr. Johnny East, DO

MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Having graduated from UNT’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a residency at UT Southwestern, Johnny East, DO, has over 18 years’ experience in interventional pain management. He owns Addison Pain & Regenerative Medicine and is board certified in both physical medicine & rehabilitation and pain medicine. East treats acute and chronic pain of the spine, joints, and connective tissue resulting from injuries and arthritis.

As an osteopath, East takes a whole-body approach to diagnosing and treating his patients to help provide relief and restore quality of life. In 2018, he pursued extensive training and certification at the American Academy of Regenerative Medicine. His passion for treating spinal injuries extends beyond the clinic. East has been recognized by D CEO with an Excellence in Healthcare Award for his patented spinal injection training device.

Karla Nunn

Karla Nunn attended the University of Kentucky and obtained a bachelor’s degree in science from Texas Wesleyan University in 2002. She then began her career in the wellness industry as creator and wellness director of flagship brand, the MommyStrong™ Transformation 90 Day program. As an effective health and longevity consultant and business development executive, Nunn has broad experience, ranging from health, wellness, nutrition, and sports fitness, to strategic development, consulting, program management, and event promotions. She has successfully helped many individuals achieve their optimal health and longevity goals and is now committed to helping Model Wellness move into the future. Nunn’s goal is for every Model Wellness client to personally thrive and live a longer, more productive life.

Sara Davis

LIFESTYLE SERVICES DIRECTOR

Sara Davis’ interest in health and fitness began in her days of competing as All-American sprinter at the University of California. During college she become a personal trainer and group instructor at Jack LaLane’s European Health Club. Moving to Dallas, she worked at Gold’s Gym and 24-Hour Fitness as well as managing the employee fitness program at AT&T Corporate.

Davis is a certified Wellness Coach with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, a certified Belief Coach and a Safe Conversations® workshop trainer. She takes a holistic approach to wellness, understanding the interdependence of the spirit, soul, and body, as well as the importance of developing consistent practices in each area to achieve personal wellbeing. Davis embraces the principles of her training and utilizes a host of life skills, helping her clients achieve health and experience optimal levels of performance.

Davis is also the founder of Go RAW with Sara Davis Coaching Services. Her private coaching practice focuses on the unique needs of women as they move through the various seasons of their lives. She is excited to bring her services, skills and heart to the Model Wellness team and community.

Lori Frederickson, LPN.

NURSE TECHNICIAN

Lori Frederickson, LPN, worked as an analytical chemist at Onyx Environmental Services in Dayton, Ohio, before studying chemistry and biology – and playing division 1 soccer – at Ohio State and Wright State Universities. Frederickson graduated from Fortis College with a licensed practical nursing degree and is currently finishing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Frederickson has a 16-year background of working in healthcare in multiple states. She has worked in the areas of medical-surgical, acute, sub-acute, home health, and long-term care. She has also worked in ventilator units and is familiar with associated technology.

Her strong foundation in healthcare, science, and athletics, combined with experiences of personal healing from holistic and non-conventional medicine, makes Frederickson a fervent, vital, and multi-skilled practitioner. An Athletic Hall of Fame recipient from the West Carrollton High School in Ohio, Frederickson is the nurse and thermometry technician at Model Wellness.

Sue Simpson

MASSAGE THERAPIST

Licensed massage therapist, Sue Simpson has provided massage therapy to the Dallas-Fort Worth community for over thirty years. She graduated from the Asten Center of Natural Therapeutics in 1989 and promptly stepped into established practice, the Health Improvement Center in Denton. Inspired to further her education, Simpson went on to study cranio-sacral therapy, prenatal massage, and polarity therapy. During these early years, she established working relationships with chiropractors and dentists, realizing that her experience and knowledge in these specialty areas would help her prosper as this emerging industry gained popularity.

Having taken a break from her career in 1993 to devote her time and energy to being a mother, Simpson returned to work alongside Josh Stroud at Jay’s Personalized Training in Fort Worth in 1997. In 1999 Simpson returned to Dallas to open her own business, Healing Hands Therapeutic Massage. In 2002 she expanded her practice by becoming an owner and working therapist in the established salon, Salon L, in north Dallas.

Simpson has over three decades’ experience in this still exciting and expanding field. To date, her diverse clientele, many of whom she also considers friends, have surpassed even her own expectations. Simpson is welcoming the future here at Model Wellness, and she welcomes you too. Karen is a licensed Massage Therapist through the National Association of Massage Therapists. She is skilled in Sports Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Chronic Pain Relief, Soft Tissue Injuries, Trigger Point Muscle Release Muscular Tension Reduction, Advanced Anatomy & Physiology, and Swedish Massage. Her education includes graduating from Texas Tech University, Myopractic Institute, ns Massage Resources, Inc.
